Energy self-sufficiency of the entire production plant
The Group is committed, with a view to reducing climate change, to developing products and processes that have the least possible impact on the environment. This includes adopting sustainable practices throughout the entire supply chain, using recyclable materials, and implementing technologies and processes that reduce carbon emissions and other negative impacts on the environment. This approach demonstrates a concrete commitment to environmental and social sustainability, going beyond the simple objective of maximizing profits to contribute to the well-being of the environment and the community.
A material made only of natural raw materials
Clays, feldspars, sands and quartz: these are the fundamental ingredients of ITALGRANITI GROUP’s porcelain stoneware. They are entirely natural raw materials, widely available on the surface of the planet, sourced from quarries belonging to the Group’s network of qualified suppliers, all of whom hold the authorisations required by law and are required to restore the site environmentally once extraction activities have ended.
Porcelain stoneware is made exclusively from natural raw materials fired at temperatures above 1,200°C to provide the necessary strength and durability. It requires no treatment after installation (such as paints or protective resins), does not release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the environment and contains no toxic materials. The Group’s ceramic surfaces are safe and highly hygienic materials.
Active cooperation with suppliers who share our same principles and values
Being a B Corp pushes ITALGRANITI GROUP to pay great attention to every link in the value chain, with particular regard to suppliers, inserted within an entrepreneurial network animated by the desire to have a positive impact on the world around it. The value chain is sustainable if all procurement, production and distribution processes activated directly or indirectly (for example through its suppliers) are managed in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner. The Group models its purchasing processes on mutual loyalty, transparency and collaboration. As a B Corp certified Benefit Company, the Group requires its suppliers to respect best practices in terms of human rights, health and safety of its employees and collaborators, environmental responsibility and care for working conditions. Finally, ITALGRANITI GROUP evaluates the performance of suppliers according to the highest quality standards, mapping the main risks within the supply chain; conducting second-party audits on suppliers and defining programs aimed at giving them support and stimulating their involvement also at a value level.
